To redeem your pet you must come to the shelter personally. To ensure that an animal is returned to the rightful owner, you will be asked to provide proof of ownership, such as a photograph or veterinary records. You will need to bring valid picture identification (driver’s license) for yourself, as well. Only persons 18 years of age or older may redeem a pet. If your pet is current on his/her rabies vaccination, make sure to bring the current rabies certificate. If a current rabies vaccination status cannot be verified, your pet will be given a rabies vaccination (at additional cost to you) before leaving the shelter. A transport carrier should be brought, if you are redeeming a cat. A leash should be brought when reclaiming your dog.

Redemption fees are based on a few factors and the following represents basic fee information; you must contact the shelter for exact fee amounts.

Any owner reclaiming an impounded animal shall, before the animal will be released, pay impoundment and boarding fees as follows:

Impound Fee $35

Kennel fee per day $5

Rabies Vaccination $10

If the animal is being held for observation because it has bitten a human, the quarantine fee is $150.00.
